Sect Pig are an international band and play a mixture of experimental, war and black metal and this is a review of their 2018 ep "Crooked backs" which will be released in May by Nuclear War Now! Productions.
Distorted amp drones along with some spoken word samples being used on both tracks while clean playing can also be heard briefly while the music also brings in elements of experimental and noise and when the music speeds up a great amount of war metal elements can be heard.
When tremolo picking and blast beats is utilized it gives the music more of a raw feeling while the vocals are a mixture of bestial growls and black metal screams along with all of the musical instruments having a very powerful sound to them and the music also brings in a great mixture of slow, mid paced and fast parts as well as a brief use of chaotic yet melodic guitar leads.
Sect Pig plays a musical style that takes war, black metal, experimental and noise and mixes them together to create a very chaotic musical style that makes a lot of heavy bands look weak in comparison, the production sounds very dark and raw while the lyrics cover eugenics and its long practice in the United States.
In my opinion Sect Pig are a very great sounding mixture of noise, experimental, war, black and bestial death metal and if you are a fan of those musical genres, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACK "Crooked backs". 8/5 out of 10.
